LINDA JACKSON

Working with Linda Jackson on social media for her upcoming retrospective, Linda Jackson Bush Couture, has been fantastically good fun - I never thought of Tweets as haiku before trying to explain them to her! I'd be happy if my life was half as rich and filled with learning as Linda's. Be sure to see the exhibition, at NGV Australia from Oz Day.

LEVANT 10

Walking home Fri eve, I spied a new Saint James love in Maiike - the Levant 10. Made from a lightweight combed cotton, it has a super neck (between round and boat), is somehow fitted yet loose, and conjures Jean Seberg in Breathless. What more could a mariniere mad girl want? Visit the lovely sisters-in-law who own Maiike at 54 Church Street, Hawthorn to purchase the Levant 10 ($95) in a range of colour ways.

FRENCH ESPADRILLES

Spotted in Auburn village this morn: An array of espadrilles, each pair just $45! They are so well made, with a proper rubber sole and tiny line of crochet at the toe. Pop into Scarlet Jones (95 Auburn Road, Hawthorn East) for a pair quick smart - they've a great range of Petit Bateau and Orla Kiely, plus Tampico bags, Epice scarves, striped deck chairs and 1950s kokeshi dolls. I got the crimson ones with orange, white and green stripes - they sing Summer!

RAINY DAYS AND MONDAYS

It's Tuesday, I know. But it's forecast to rain big time today, so you had best be prepared. What, sans parka? Well, look no further than the rainwear collaboration between Stand Up Comedy and Slow and Steady Wins the Race. Inspired by Portland's inclement weather, the line features simple yet sleek trenches, anoraks and ponchos - all of which are named for waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge. Check it out here, and don't let those rainy days get you down!
